Sri Lanka‘s tourism sector has demonstrated a robust recovery, with foreign exchange earnings reaching $362.1 million in January 2025, marking a 34.5% increase compared to $269.3 million in January 2024.

In 2024, the nation recorded $3.17 billion in tourism revenue, a significant 53.2% rise from the $2.07 billion garnered in 2023.

The upward trajectory continued into early 2025, with 252,761 foreign visitors arriving in January, reflecting a 21.4% increase from 208,253 arrivals in January 2024.
