New Rollout on changes To Shopping Searches In Europe
Hey Folks,
Earlier this February Google introduced new search features in Europe. As Google prioritizes improving users’ experience with rich and relevant information for their searches and improving the visibility of ecosystem participants they are rolling out new search features across European Economica Area.
With their recent update it evident that Google has started implementing changes to the search results in the EU region to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA). On March 06th, DMA started to impose new rules on large technology companies designated as “gatekeepers” inorder to create a fair competition in the European Digital Market. As a result Brodie Clark, SEO consultant, shared the snapshots of these changes on Twitter. He stated that
Now seeing a change that seems to only apply to the UK and Europe where there are now default ‘Products‘ and ‘Product Sites‘ tabs which feature distinct results. Within the Products tab, the results are entirely oganic merchant listing results from a variety of sites that qualify. Whereas the Product Sites tab seems to feature a more narrow set of web pages that feature a selection of products – having the carousel treatment in some instances.
