How to enhance tech experience: Apply UX & psychological theories- Part 2
In part 2 of our exploration of how to enhance tech experience through the application of UX and psychological theories, we will talk about two more specific theories: Social Cognitive Theory and Gamification.
Social Cognitive Theory is a way of thinking that says people are affected by the things and people around them. This means that when people use technology, they like to connect and share with others.
So, when we make technology, it’s important to make it easy for people to connect and share with others. This will make the technology more interesting and fun for them to use.
An example of this is Instagram, which is a website where people can share pictures and talk with friends. Because of this, people like to use Instagram and it is very popular.
As designers, we can use this theory to make technology that encourages social interaction and collaboration. This means making technology that makes it easy for people to talk and share with each other. This will make the technology more interesting and fun for them to use.

Fourth one is Gamification theory . This is a way of making technology more interesting and fun by using things that you would normally find in games. An example of this is using points or badges, which are things you can earn for doing something good or well in a game. Another example is using leader boards, which is a way of showing who is doing the best or who has the most points.
When designers use gamification in technology, it makes the technology more engaging and fun for people to use. It makes people want to keep using the technology and trying to do better.
An example of this is Duolingo, a language learning app that uses gamification to make learning more interesting and fun. The app gives users points and virtual rewards for finishing lessons and encourages competition with friends through leader boards. This makes people want to keep using the app and trying to learn more languages.
P.S: I have been using Duolingo app for a while to learn foreign languages. The app is very good at making language learning fun and interactive by using things like points and leader boards. It makes me want to keep using it and learning more. The app is well designed and easy to use.
