If you’re running Google Ads and not getting the results you expect, you’re not alone. Over the past few months, We’ve built a basic Google Ads Optimization Checklist that helps me and my team stay on track — especially when campaigns feel stuck or underperforming.

🔍 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬
✅ Define a clear campaign goal (Conversions? Website Visits? Leads?)
✅ Choose the right campaign type (Search / Display / Performance Max / Video / Shopping)
✅ Ensure proper geographic targeting
✅ Language targeting based on your actual customers
✅ Use audience segments (custom intent, in-market, remarketing, etc.)
📝 𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 & 𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
✅ Use a mix of match types (broad, phrase, exact – wisely)
✅ Negative keyword list (update weekly!)
✅ Group similar intent keywords into tightly themed ad groups
✅ Use Keyword Planner or competitor tools to discover missed terms
🎯 𝐀𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬
✅ Write at least 3 responsive search ads per ad group
✅ Focus on user pain points, benefits, and CTAs
✅ Utilize all ad extensions: sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets, location, etc.
✅ Add image assets where relevant
📈 𝐁𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
✅ Choose bidding strategy wisely (Manual CPC / Maximize Conversions / tROAS / tCPA)
✅ Review search impression share and budget limits
✅ Don’t panic-change bids daily – give it 3–5 days minimum
✅ Pause keywords or ads draining budget with no return
🎯 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠
✅ Make sure conversion tracking is properly installed (GTM / GA4 / direct)
✅ Track real business outcomes — not vanity metrics
✅ Use micro and macro conversions (form views, time on site, calls, purchases)
🧪 𝐀/𝐁 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
✅ Run experiments – don’t guess
✅ Test headlines, descriptions, CTAs, landing pages
✅ Track what version wins and apply changes
✅ Keep learning from Audience Insights and Ad Recommendations tab
