Working from home VS office- which one makes you more productive?

The way we work has changed dramatically over the past few years and one of the biggest shifts has been the rise of working from home. What was once considered a rare privilage has now become a normal part of life for many people. But as more companies start calling employees back to the office it raises an intresting question which environment actually makes us more productive?

Those who prefer working from home often talk about the flexibility it offers. There is no commute, You can set up your own space the way you like it and you have fewer intrruptions from collegues. Many people find that they get more done in a focused home environment and also feel less stressed throughout the day. For parents and caregives especially, working from home can make a huge difference in balancing personal and preffesional responsibilities.

On the other hand, the office has its own advantages that are hard to replace. Being physically present with your team makes communication faster and easier. Colloboration feels more natural when you are in the same room as someone. There is also a clearer boundry between work and personal life when you physically leave the office at the end of the day. Some people also find that the structure of going into an office helps them stay focused and motivated.

The truth is that it probably depends on the person and the type of work they do. Some people thrive at home while others genuinely do their best work in an office setting.

For me it really depends on what I’m doing. When I work from home I can focus better because it is quiet. I do not waste time commuting. I like being at home when I have to concentrate on tasks. The office is great, for working with others bouncing ideas off them and getting help. If I had to pick I think I get more done at home when I really need to focus.
