Why Do We Sometimes Underestimate Our Own Progress?

I think we sometimes don’t realize how much we have grown because we pay much attention to what is still ahead of us instead of what we have already done.

For example when we start learning something we often look at people who have more experience. We might feel like we are not getting better enough even though we have picked up a lot of things along the way.

Another reason is that progress doesn’t always happen fast. Sometimes we get better bit by bit without even realizing it. We become better at solving problems talking to people or dealing with situations but we think those changes are just normal.

In my view comparing ourselves to others can make us forget what we have done. Everyone starts at a place moves at a different pace and faces different obstacles. So our progress doesn’t need to be the same, as someone.

I think it is important to look sometimes and see what we have learned and what we have done. Even small changes count because they help us get better over time.

We don’t have to be perfect or achieve everything at once. Sometimes, simply being better than we were yesterday is a real achievement.

I agree.
Sometimes we focus too much on what we still need to achieve and forget how much we have already learned. Comparing ourselves with others can make us feel like we are not doing enough, even when we are making progress. I think it is important to look back sometimes, appreciate how far we have come, and remember that everyone grows at a different pace. Even small improvements can make a big difference over time.
