What tone do you want for the luck vs preparation post?

We have all heard someone say ” they just got lucky” about a person who landed an amazing opportunity or achieved something great. and honestly sometimes great. And honestly sometimes that is true being in the right place at the right time is a real thing. But here is what we do not talk about enough. Luck alone rarely changes your life. What actually changes your life is being prepared enough to take full advantages of it when it shows up.

Think about it this way. Opportunities knock on a lot of doors. The difference is not who gets the knock it is who is actually ready to open the door and walk through it actually ready to open the door and walk through it confidently. The person who has been building their skills, showing up consistently, expanding their knowledge and putting in the quiet unglamourous work behind the scenes is the one who can catch an opprtunity and actually run with it. The person who has been waiting for to do all the heavy lifting often watches that same opportunity pass them by.

There is a famous quote that says luck is what happenes when preparation opportunity. And the more you think about it the more it rings true. And the more you think about it the more it rings true. The people we call lucky are often just the people who prepared so thoroughly that when their moment came they were ready for it.

That does not mean preparation guarantees success every time. Timing,circumstances and yes a little bit of luck all play a role. But preparation is the one variable you actually have control over.

So the real question is not wheather luck will find you. The real question is when your opportunity finally arrives will you be ready for it?
