What is your favorite technique for staying calm before speaking in front of an audience?

Everyone gets stage fear at some point like when you have to give a presentation in class or you’re in a business meeting or you have to talk in front of a lot of people. The good thing is that you can deal with stage fear if you do things the way. One way to give a presentation is to get ready for it. If you know what you are talking about and you practice what you are going to say times you will feel better and you will not be as nervous.

Another thing that helps is to think about the people who are listening to you of thinking about how nervous you are. Most people want to hear what you have to say. They want you to do well. If you take a few breaths before you start talking you will feel calmer. If you talk at a pace you will be in control. If you look at people smile and use your hands a little you will be better, at talking to people. You will get better at speaking in public. Stage fear is something that everyone experiences and stage fear can be managed if you practice and prepare for your presentation and focus on your audience of your stage fear.

Do not be discouraged by mistakes. Very experienced speakers sometimes forget a point or they lose their train of thought. What matters the most is that you stay calm and you continue with confidence. You have to focus on delivering your message. Every single presentation is a learning experience that helps you become a confident speaker. This is something that happens over time as you give presentations and you learn from your experiences with presentations and speaking.

When you do something a lot and try things public speaking gets easier. People are not born being confident. Confidence is something that you learn over time. You get confident when you prepare well have a lot of experience and think thoughts about public speaking. The more you practice speaking and step outside your comfort zone the more confident you will be, at public speaking.

Thank you for sharing this! I really liked the point about focusing on the audience instead of our nervousness. It reminded me that confidence comes with preparation and consistent practice. This was a very helpful read.
