How Can We Increase Website Traffic With Real Users?

Increasing website traffic is not simply about ranking for more keywords or getting more clicks. The real goal is to attract users who have a genuine interest in what the business offers. In my view, the best approach starts with understanding the target audience, their problems, and their search intent before creating content

For example, if a company provides dedicated servers, targeting only a broad keyword like ‘dedicated server’ may bring traffic with different types of intent. Instead, creating useful content around searches such as ‘dedicated server vs VPS,’ ‘best dedicated server for gaming,’ or ‘how to choose a dedicated server for a business’ can attract users who are actively looking for solutions.

Content should then guide those users through the customer journey. A helpful blog can link to a relevant service page, comparisons can help users evaluate options. And clear CTAs can encourage enquiries or purchases. At the same time, technical SEO, page speed, internal linking, quality backlinks, social media distribution, and regular content updates can help expand reach.

But there is one important point: more traffic does not always mean better results. If traffic increases but engagement, enquiries, or conversions remain low, the strategy needs to be reviewed. Metrics such  as organic traffic, engagement rate, conversion rate, returning users, and landing-page performance can provide a better picture of traffic quality.

So, rather than asking  ‘How can we get more website traffic?’, marketers should ask,

“How can we attract more of the right users and turn that traffic into meaningful business results?” 

That shift in thinking can make traffic growth much more sustainable.
