Google Gemini has now added AI music creation 🎵🤖.
Recently Google showed a new feature of creating music within Google Gemini which operates on their new model, Lyria 3. Interestingly, it lets creators create both music and lyrics with the help of a prompt consisting of a simple text.
This might be an effective approach to accelerate the work processes of teams that deal with videos, social content, or demos. You do not need to look around to find the right background music, but you can create something that would suit the tone you desire calm, energetic, dramatic or minimal. That presents creators with increased control and minimized reliance on external assets.
Naturally, this is underdeveloped, and there will be no time when musicians or sound designers will lose their job. However, it is a strong tool to support, particularly in terms of demonstrating prototypes, in-house demonstrations and light content.
The greater implication is that the creative pipeline is no longer delivering text and images but is extending into audio with AI.
Curious to hear your opinion, where do you believe AI-generated music would best fit in actual projects?
AI music fits best in fast-moving content production. Think demos, social media videos, prototypes, internal presentations, and startup marketing. It saves time, reduces licensing costs, and gives teams instant control over tone and mood.
It won’t replace professional composers for high-end films or brand campaigns. But as a speed and iteration tool, it’s extremely practical and strategically powerful.
