Are Customers Starting to Trust Reviews More Than Brand Advertising?
I think customer reviews are getting more and more important especially when people shop online. These days people don’t just look at an ad. Decide to buy something. They usually want to find out what other people say first. They might check reviews comments on media, videos on YouTube, forums or online conversations to see what real people went through.
The main reason is trust. A company always tries to show the side of its product or service in an ad. A real customer can tell their real story, including what they liked what they didn’t like and whether the product was really worth the price. Bad reviews can be useful because they help people understand what to expect. How a company deals with comments also shows a lot about how it treats its customers.
For marketers I think this means that marketing is not just about making nice ads anymore. The real customer experience matters a lot. When customers have an experience they are more likely to write a good review tell others about the product or talk about it online. That kind of feedback can sometimes be stronger, than a paid ad.
In my opinion advertising can get peoples attention. Real customer experiences can build trust. That’s why customer reviews and feedback are becoming such a part of digital marketing today.
