Are Brands Focusing Too Much on Likes and Not Enough on Real Results?
I think a lot of brands today focus much on likes, followers and comments, on social media. These numbers can look good on paper. They don’t always mean the brand is doing well.
For example a company might post something that gets thousands of likes but doesn’t bring in any customers. At the time another post might get only a few likes but help people learn about a product and push them to buy. This proves that likes alone can’t show the value of content.
In my view brands should focus more on building trust sharing information and learning what their audience really wants. When people find content helpful they are more likely to remember the brand and pick its products or services later.
Sure likes and comments do matter because they show that people are paying attention.. They shouldn’t be the only way to see if something is working.
What really matters is if the social media activity helps a business reach its goals. Of asking, “How many likes did we get?” companies should also ask, “Did we reach the right people? Did we build trust? Did we get results?”
I believe a balance, between engagement and real business results is the approach.
