5 Steps That Got Me Move Forward with My Career

Not too long ago, I was in a situation where I was totally stuck.

I was not where I wanted to be in my career. I felt like I was drifting apart – not sure which way to go, and not sure if I was even supposed to go anywhere. I knew that I wanted change, but I didn’t know where to go with this and whic direction to take.

It was frustrating. Exhausting, even.

But here’s what made a difference for me:

1. I asked myself, ‘What am I really attracted to?”

Not what I should be doing or what others expected-but what really sparked my curiosity or interest (even small ways). That single question alone brought me around to realizing things that I had been ignoring for years.

2. I invested time to learn more about it.

Not necessarily with expensive courses, with big plans – but with a relevant course with reasonable investment, reading, researching, watching people who were already doing what I admired. I started to see patterns and possibilities.

3.  I started executing – even if imperfectly.

This part was scary. I didn’t feel “ready.” But I learned that waiting to see if I felt ready was just another version of procrastination. So I started small. Made mistakes. And kept going.

4.  I stayed consistent.

Momentum builds quietly. Day by day, task by task. There were no overnight results – but I stuck to it even when no one was looking.

5. And, when I didn’t get results from consistency, I experimented.

Instead of quitting when things didn’t work, I tried different things. Different formats. Different tools, different methods. That change my mindset – from “failure” to “experiment” – changed everything. Then, things began to work.

That’s When I Realized:

Most of us already know what we need to do.
We’re just not doing it.

We wait for motivation. We wait for certainty. We wait for permission.

But growth isn’t something that happens by waiting, it’s by doing something. Even the messy kind.

So here’s a reminder – for you and for me:

The best time to start was yesterday.
The next best time is now.

Start small. Start scared. Start unsure. But Start Now!

You don’t need all the answers. You just need to take the first step – and then the next.

Let’s keep going!
