How do you recharge after a big project launch?

How do you recharge after a big project launch?

When we completed a domain it was actually like a mini marathon. The days to the end of the deadline are thrilling but also exhausting. When it all actually activates there is a sense of pride and exhaustion.

In my case, what now? The moment immediately after a finish is as significant to me as the work itself. I have come to realize that the second sprint is two times more difficult when I do not take a break and recharge myself.

Here is the way I personally like to reset:

Calm music first. The instant I close my laptop, I have a chilled-out playlist on. It can assist me in moving my mind off the nonstop notifications and design adjustments.

Family time. I discuss with my parents and tell them a little about the project (without the details that are stressful!). It is that mere discussion that makes the hours of work worthwhile.

Good food & real rest. The right meal and sleep at an early night are overestimated. Sleeping without an alarm and having a nice meal is the best present after days of late coffees and missed lunches.

It may seem that this routine is very simple, and the truth is that it does indeed assist me with clearing my mind and returning the following day prepared for new challenges. Everyone has his or her style of recharging. Others wake up in the morning on the first day with friends and some on the second day just take a long walk or plunge into a new activity. And there are others who favour an evening out with a book or game.

What about you?

Would love to know how you hit the reset button- I could borrow some of your ideas to the next big launch!

That’s such a relatable post!

I also believe that the final stage of work, after the launch, is equally significant to the preparation preceding the launch. In my case, I tend to unplug my devices and go on a longer stroll in the evening or journal, or simply sit and have a cup of tea. It actually assists me in unloading the project and slowing down my thoughts.

I like to treat myself to a little but significant thing sometimes, such as watching a comfort movie or making a favorite meal, which makes me feel like celebrating the effort. And under the circumstances that the launch was especially tiring, I ensured that I had a day of doing nothing and nothing guilt-free, since rest is the fuel of the following sprint.
