How to Improve Product Rich Results
Hi All,
This post is about how to get more product-rich results in the Search engine results pages. In a recent interview, John Mueller replied to the question, “How to get more product-rich results?” So let’s discuss how we can show our product in rich results;
What is Product Rich Results?
Product Rich Results are visually appealing results that show the related information of products in terms of availability, review ratings, pricing, and shipping information.
What does a Product Search Experience Include?
- Product Snippets: Price, stock availability, review ratings
- Visual representation (images) of the products
- Product Knowledge Panels
- Product Carousels
According to the discussion with John Mueller during the interview, he has highlighted four main metrics to qualify for product-rich results. What are they?
- Page Indexing: The page must be indexed (Focusing on the content quality page and site level)
- Valid Structured Data: Having valid structured data does not guarantee that Google will show rich results for that page but it qualifies the website to show in the rich results page.
- Google’s systems determine that it’s worth showing: Google continuously stress about content quality, if you have read about reviews systems, quality guidelines, Google’s SEO starter guide or even Search Quality Raters Guidelines you can get more information on the quality of content. Google will only show the content (it can be image, products or non text element) only if it is helpful, or useful for the user.
- Merchant Feed: submitting a product feed to your merchant center account, to show products.
If you’re trying to bring your page in Product rich results makesure to consider the above mentioned points and if you have any tricks or suggestions share your thoughts in comment section.
