How do you relax when the workday’s done?
How do you relax when the workday’s done?
How do you recharge after a long day of work?
After hours of focusing on developing, designing, writing and meeting deadlines, we all need a moment to just breathe and reset. But the way we recharge looks different for everyone.
- For some, it’s all about quiet and calm – a walk, a hot cup of tea with calm music, a nap, spending time in nature or just lying down in silence.
- For others, it’s movement and energy – a walkout, dancing with energetic music, Social connections, gathering of friends or Talking to Someone.
- There are those who recharge with creativity and curiosity – watching a document, playing an instrument, journaling, designing, creative activities for fun.
Personally I have found that my evening recharge often depends on how the day went. But most of the time, I go for simple things that really help me unwind.
I like to listen to calm music to ease stress and quiet my mind. After work, I usually talk with my parents. Just having that conversation helps me feel connected and relaxed. A good meal also makes a difference, and finally, I try to end the day by going to bed with a calm mind and enough rest.
Other days, I need to talk it out, laugh or get distracted by something completely unrelated to work.
However, recharging is not always big. Sometimes it’s just:
- Putting your phone and laptop away for a while
- Listing to your favourite playlist
- Cooking something simple
- Watching a favourite show/film
- Talking to someone who makes you feel relax
So I’d love to ask how do you recharge after a long workday? Let’s share ideas..
I can totally relate to this! I usually play some music and talk with my parents, simple things that help me reset. Some days, a good laugh or just silence does the trick. It’s all about finding that small pause that works.
