I found some interesting information from BrightEdge regarding how Google’s AI Overviews choose their citations.

According to this study,

• 82% of citations come from deeper pages on a website, not the homepage.
• Only 0.5% of citations come from homepages.
• 86% of citations are linked to a single keyword, showing the importance of focused content.

So why is this important? It means that you need to make sure all your pages are well-optimized, not just the homepage. Keep your content updated and relevant so it will get noticed.
