Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Technical Support Officer to join our growing IT team and help ensure seamless technical operations.
As a Technical Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to our employees and clients, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues. You will be a key resource in ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly by troubleshooting problems, providing timely solutions, and maintaining technical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
- Provide support in a face-to-face capacity, over the phone, or via remote desktop software, helping staff or clients set up systems or resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Conduct electrical safety checks on IT equipment.
- Developing technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Leading the IT team and ensuring they have the resources they need to be successful.
- Staying up to date with technology trends and advancements to ensure the business remains competitive.
- Addressing escalated issues, performing service delivery, and implementing remediation/resolutions with third parties.
- Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling.
- Monitor and enhance security measures to protect systems and data against malware, phishing, and data breaches.
- Ability to lift and carry necessary IT equipment.
- Manage IT assets, including tracking inventory and optimizing resource allocation.
- Assist in software and hardware support ( Windows, MacOS and Linux), including installations, configurations and updates.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and ensure integration with Hybrid systems.
- Develop and maintain backup strategies, ensure disaster recovery plans are tested and up to date.
- Liaise with vendors for IT products and services, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships.
- Conduct cybersecurity awareness training for employees to prevent security incidents.
- Ensure IT systems are audit-ready and comply with industry regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
- Monitor network and system performance, generate reports, and provide insights for continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: A Diploma in IT/Computer Science/Networking/Computer Hardware and/or a Higher Diploma in IT/Computer Science/Networking /Computer Hardware from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience must
- Proficiency in Operating Systems(Microsoft, Linux, Mac), Cisco, VMware, network administration, Firewall Configuration and troubleshooting
- Professional Qualification is an added advantage
