Local Business Listings – Still Worth It in 2025?

Just wanted to talk about something simple but still powerful in local SEO – Local Business Listings. SEMrush had a great guide on this, and it reminded me how much of a difference these listings can make in 2025.

Whether it’s a small bakery, car repair, local digital service, getting your business listed in local directories is essential. Why? Here are a few takeaways that I found helpful but also learned from just experience:

Enhanced Visibility on Search & Maps

If your business is listed on services like Google Business Profile, Yelp, Bing Places and local directories, then people can find you when they search “near me.”  If your details are missing or inconsistent, it can actually hurt your visibility.

Trust & Credibility

The more your business is visible on trusted platforms, the more credibility you gain. They’re much more likely to trust a company they can find all across the web with an identical contact information, reviews and info.

 Improved Local SEO

Search engines use NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) consistency as a ranking factor. Accurate listings give a clear signal to Google that your business is legitimate and local.

Reviews Build Confidence

These directories often feature customer reviews. When handled properly, positive reviews build trust and enable potential customers to feel assured about selecting your services.

I’d like to hear from others here:

  • Have you seen a boost in calls or visits after fixing or adding your listings?
  • Which generates the most leads for you?
  • Do you think local listings are becoming more or less important?

Let’s help each other get the most out of our local presence!
Looking forward to your thoughts 👇
