What Is The Locus Of Control With Example ?

Locus of control is a psychological concept that shows how much control we think we have over our lives.Internal locus of control.

  • Internal locus of control

People with an internal locus of control believe that their actions and decisions directly influence the events in their lives. They feel responsible for their successes and failures, attributing them to their own abilities and efforts.

  • External locus of control

Conversely, individuals with an external locus of control tend to believe that external factors, like luck, fate, or other people’s actions, primarily govern their life events. They may feel like mere bystanders and less in control of their own destiny.

Basically, it’s about whether you see yourself steering the ship or being tossed by the waves of fate. Your mindset affects how you approach life’s ups and downs.

Hi Arshana,

As you said, both types of people live in this modern world. But I prefer to be the internal locus of control. Because we should believe in ourselves rather than luck and fate. Only then we can achieve our aim. If we believe in an external locus of control, nothing to happen in our growth.
